The studio
Small on purpose.
Etch is two partners in Brentwood, Tennessee. The people you meet are the people who do the work, and the studio never really closes, because we are married.
Two partners. One studio.
Etch started in 2014 as Jessica’s studio: email, print and social for businesses that needed a marketing department and could not hire one. Brakes, pools, gyms, farms, real estate, retail. The work was the writing, the design, the sending and the reporting, and it still is.
Ryan came in from the building side. He runs Southaven Homes, a spec builder in Middle Tennessee, and he builds the systems that run it: the dashboards, the schedules, the reports. In 2026 those two things met. The marketing desk we built for Southaven became the first Etch Engine, and now we build them for clients.
So Etch makes the work, and the machines that keep making it. The order matters. The work comes first.

What we believe
Five things about brands.
Jessica wrote these down for clients years ago. They have not changed, because they keep turning out to be true.
Know exactly who you are talking to.
A fifteen-year-old boy and a fifteen-year-old girl do not hear the same message. Find your audience before you spend a dollar. Sometimes that means two campaigns, not one.
Brand for the company you will be in ten years.
Do not brand for today. Write the mission, the vision and the position, and make decisions against them, especially the hard ones.
Find your voice and keep it.
A consistent voice lets your people carry the brand when you are not in the room. If the documents do not match each other, the service will not either.
Do not cheapen it.
Be what you are: the best low-cost provider, or the best high-end one. The minute you drift toward the other, your customers call you on it.
Listen to your customers.
If nobody is buying, change what you are doing. It is fine to be wrong. It is expensive to be stubborn.
And one from the engine room.
Nothing sends without a human yes. Automation should take the remembering off your plate, never the deciding.
How we work
What working with us is like.
Come meet the studio.
A twenty-minute call is enough to know whether we are a fit. Most of the time we can tell you on the call.
