Who we are.

Etch Marketing Services is a marketing studio in Brentwood, Tennessee, operated by Jessica Decker and Ryan Decker. If you have a question about anything on this page, email ryan@etchmarketingservices.com or call 615.400.7446. A real person answers.

What we collect.

Only what you type into a form, and the records every web server keeps. Form by form:

• The contact form. Your name, business name, email address, phone number if you choose to give one, the checkboxes you tick about what you would like to fix, and whatever you write in the message box.
• The Ledger signup. Your email address, and which page you signed up from.
• The Five Questions. Your five answers, and your email address if you ask for the readout.
• The reactivation calculator. The two numbers you enter, and your email address if you ask for the readout.
• The email deliverability check. The domain you type, the public DNS records we look up for it, and your email address if you ask for the readout.
• The Proof Sheet request. Your name, email address and mailing address, because it is a printed card that goes in the post.
• The builder form. Your name, business, email address, phone number, how many jobs you have going, where you build, and your message.
• Standard server records. Like every website, our host keeps a log of requests, which includes your IP address, your browser type and which pages were requested. We do not use these to build a profile of you.

That is the whole list. The only analytics on this site is our host’s count of page views, which is made from those same server records on the server and sets no cookie. No advertising pixels, no tracking scripts, and no cookies of our own. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Why we collect it.

To answer you, and to send you what you asked for. If you fill in the contact form or the builder form, we use what you wrote to reply, to prepare a proposal, and to keep a record of the conversation. A readout goes only to the address that asked for it. The Ledger goes only to people who signed up for it, and every issue carries the unsubscribe link. We do not sell your information, rent it, or add you to the Ledger because you filled in another form.

Who else sees it.

A small number of companies, each doing one job for us:

• Netlify hosts this website and receives every form on it.
• Our own dashboard, a private server we run at DigitalOcean, where each form submission is copied so we can reply on time and keep the record.
• Airtable holds our record of enquiries and signups.
• MailerLite sends the Ledger and any readout you asked for by email, and holds the address you gave for that.
• IONOS registers our domain and runs our email, so a form submission also reaches us as an email through them.
• Google Fonts serves the two typefaces this site uses. Your browser requests those files from Google, which means Google can see your IP address when a page loads. No other Google service runs here.

Nobody else. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers, and we never will.

If you are our client.

When we run marketing for a client, we handle their customer information on their behalf: mailing lists, past customer records, and similar. That information belongs to the client, not to us. We use it only to do the work they hired us for, we keep it in the platforms their business already uses, and we return or delete it when the engagement ends. The client’s own privacy policy governs how they collect it in the first place.

How long we keep it.

Form submissions stay in our email and our records while we are talking, and afterwards as part of our normal business records. A Ledger signup stays until you unsubscribe. Server logs roll off on our host’s schedule, which is measured in weeks, not years.

Your choices.

Email ryan@etchmarketingservices.com and ask us to send you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We will do it, and we will not make you jump through hoops. If you are in a place with specific data protection rights, such as California or the European Union, those rights apply and this is how you exercise them.

Children.

This site is for businesses. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Security.

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Our internal systems require a password and are limited to the two of us. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we do not keep anything here that we do not need.

Changes.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant and you are a client, we will tell you directly rather than expecting you to notice.
